I live here
And I want to leave this place:
We have no choice but to drag our fallen sails
In the surrounding waters.
The salt burns our tongue
And strikes us dumb, against our will.
Seagulls circle high above the roundabout,
Mistaken by pigeons,
And the leaves fall.
I’m waiting and you smoke.
