I

a este lugar de la mesa

le llamaremos yanoestás

y a este otro

florero

y las sillas

y el mantel viejo

a este lugar de la casa

le llamaremos siemprevuelve

siempreviva

siempre

a estas sábanas de espanto

en una soledad que truena

y si llaman

y la puerta no cede

llama más

siemprellama

porque la puerta es tosca

ese es el único lugar de la casa

que no tiene nombre

todo lo que sale

por ese lugar sin nombre

nunca

regresa

I

to this place on the table

we will call it you’re-not-there

and this one

vase

and the chairs

and the old tablecloth

to this place in the house

we will call you always-come-back

always-alive

always

to these sheets of horror

in a thundering loneliness

and if they call

and the door won’t budge

call more

always call

because the door is rough

that’s the only place in the house

that has no name

everything that comes out

for that nameless place

never

came back

II
no chiflarás

los truenos

andan cerca

se escucha de lejos

no queremos bozales

no queremos bozales

no queremos bozales

cuidado

hay

trueno

no pase

zona de truenos

thunder zone

keep out

he vivido con un hombre de trueno

y con un hombre de casa

¿cuál de los dos me acompaña?

keep out

II

you won’t whistle

the Thunders

they are close

heard from afar

we don’t want muzzles

we don’t want muzzles

we don’t want muzzles

watch out

there are

Thunder

don’t pass

thunder zone

thunder zone

keep out

I’ve lived with a thunder man

and with a house man

Which of the two is with me?

keep out
